WiL’s songs aren’t found on terrestrial radio; not yet anyway. He’s been told his music isn’t easy to categorize. It’s not country enough. It’s too soft for rock stations…but the irony is that this Quebec born, Calgary raised, West Coast based front man that heads up the indie folk rock outfit known as WiL and Company has carved out a comfortable niche his own. Comparisons abound; Ray LaMontagne, Ryan Adams, Nathaniel Rateliff … fantastic company for sure… but WiL likes to stick with his own Company; that with which he keeps while performing on stage. For him there is nothing more fulfilling than transcribing the songs he has crafted over the past twenty two years into an immersive live event with his long time drummer Keith Gallant and multi-instrumentalist Tyler Lieb ( keys, pedal steel and electric guitar )
‘The Company is so dynamic and improvisational you can barely walk away to take a leak or grab a drink without fear of missing out on a magic moment of staggering musicianship or offbeat, hilarious storytelling’ – Craig Milton / An Evening in the Valley
In 2024 WiL set about working on new music teaming up with Dirty Windshields ( CKUA ) host and alt country singer/songwriter Leeroy Stagger to record and co-produce a series of new songs slated for a ‘staggered’ release throughout 2026/27.
Join WiL and Company this fall; showcasing fresh original songs, blistering covers and older fan favourites while opening the door wide to all who have taken a chance on something entirely new.
